Classic Tiramisu with Monte Verde Coffee
A creamy, smooth
Italian dessert with just the right touch of coffee. Simply irresistible!
Ingredients (Serves 6–8):
- 1 cup of Monte Verde coffee
(espresso or brewed coffee, already cooled) - 2 tablespoons of sugar
(for the coffee) - 1 teaspoon of vanilla
extract - 3 egg yolks
- ½ cup (100 g) of sugar
- 1 cup (240 ml) of cold
heavy cream - 1 cup (225 g) of
mascarpone cheese (you can substitute with cream cheese, but mascarpone is
ideal) - 1 package of
ladyfingers (about 20–24 units) - Unsweetened cocoa
powder (for dusting)
Instructions:
- Brew the Monte Verde
coffee, add the 2 tablespoons of sugar and vanilla extract. Let it cool. - In a bowl, beat the
egg yolks with the sugar until thick and pale (about 3–5 minutes). - Add the mascarpone to
the yolk mixture. Mix until smooth. - In a separate bowl,
whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the
mascarpone mixture. - Dip each ladyfinger
quickly into the coffee (1–2 seconds — don’t let them soak too much). - In a rectangular dish
or individual cups, create layers:
- A layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers
- A layer of the mascarpone cream
- Repeat and finish with a layer of cream
- Refrigerate for at
least 4 hours (even better overnight). - Just before serving,
dust with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
Tips:
You can add a splash of liqueur like amaretto, rum, or coffee liqueur to the coffee for extra flavor.
For a lighter version, use whipped ricotta or Greek yogurt.
